Who are we?

Hijablicious was founded in 2010 by two sisters based in London. Both of us were passionate about fashion, and wanted to inspire other women to reach out of their comfort zones, and experiment with colours and styles, as opposed to being dull and mundane. It is about looking good but most of all feeling good.

We want to inspire women to empower themselves through what they wear, and express themselves and their wonderful and numerous personalities. We want to reach out to all women, from different walks of life, whether they come from a religious background or none at all and are simply looking for an alternative to the obsession of sexualising women which is prevalent in our contemporary world.

Each women is valuable, beautiful and unique. We strongly believe that women can retain modesty and at the same time be a fashionista, and this is what we are all about :)

What do we do?

We review companies off the high-street, including online stores and smaller companies, and put together outfits which retain  a covered but trendy look. We have also reviewed events, hosted styling sessions, recorded youtube tutorials, and encourage an ethical approach to fashion. For example in the past we have held a 'Scarf Swap' evening, in order to support recycling (as featured in Marie Claire Magazine above) and we personally have a soft spot for vintage clothing, and so you'll see lots of vintage gems featured on our blog!  *yaaay*
