Maxi'licious!
Maxi it out with gorgeous skirts that sweep the floor, making you feel like the goddess that you really are!
This outfit has been put together for a casual look, but maxi skirts are perfect for evenings out and special occasions when teamed with the right shoes and accessories. Most stores had maxi skirts in during the Spring/Summer season and still have them in right now in a number of materials, including jersey and chiffon. Before purchasing them, it is important to try them on because they can be quite long especially if you are petite. In that case, a pair of heels always comes in handy, or you can have someone turn it up at the bottom. I love the Chiffon type material because it looks good and sleek but it can also be see through so make sure you check what it looks like on.
Plus, even though winter is coming up, it doesn't mean we have to say goodbye to maxi skirts. Teamed with boots, chunky knits and a belt with some tights underneath, they looks as good as ever. Hopefully we will do a feature soon on how to put a winter maxi look together soon.

ReplyDeleteluv ur clutch!!! sparklingggg..
ReplyDeleteSalams!thank u for the great stuff:) is it possible for u to explain how you have tied ur scarf? And how uv tied ur hair inside to get this look?
ReplyDeleteSalaam Marva,
ReplyDeleteThe hair has been put up in a bun, and then a flower clip has been used on top of it to give volume. The scarf has been wrapped my starting off with one side shorter then the other, and then wrapping around the head, letting the longer side drape down! Hope that helps!!
Salaams! It was lovely to meet you at the SnS event last week. I was just wondering, is the waistband on this skirt elasticated? I want to bid on one on eBay, but it's a size too small...
ReplyDeleteSalam sis lovely meeting you too!! Thanks for your comment, the skirt is elasticated but not 'very' stretchy. It comes with a belt and is quite slim so has to be pretty high waisted and a snug fit. I went for my normal size and it fit fine as long as it was high up, if I pulled it down to my hip area it would be too tight.
ReplyDeleteHope that helps! :)
Assalaamualaikum :) After seeing this post last month, went browsing in the mall + actually found a maxi skirt made from lovely modal material + in a beige-taupe colour, similar to what you have on in the pics. I never would have figured on getting a skirt in this style or colour but love wearing it! I wear it to work with heels + a blouse with high collar, ruffles down the front + ruffled cuffs on the sleeves. It's a nice change from the "dress over trousers worn with jacket" hijabi look - which is what I do most of the time for work. I would love to see you do a post on how to wear maxi dresses/skirts and abaya dresses to work - taking into account people work in different types of environments. My work environment is very "serious" + involves a lot of supervision of junior staff hence I have to "set the example", but I slip in the quirkiness + bit of colour to show a bit of my personality every now + then - unless I've got a meeting - then I go really conservative :)
